Moving Into Action

The final session was more of a wrap-up/sharing of the points from today, so excuse the brevity, but it wasn’t nearly as packed with gems as the first two… That and I was so emotionally exhausted from all the excitement of the day!

Linking books helps publishers set up expectations beyond obvious connections – helps them sell it

“Those people don’t read” – You’re just not buying what they want to read.  What they can relate to.

Where are the resources and where can we put them – advertise, advertise, advertise.

If you want to know what the kids are reading at home, ask the parents to be involved

Create a **Mayor’s Reading List** or some other important person in the community and make sure its diverse, includes new authors — a good mix of everything
